Meet Lorna

Lorna ScottHello and welcome to my world.  I love meeting new people, finding out who they are and what they dream about. I seem to be a beacon and draw into my life people who are facing difficult times and are ready to take the leap forward and change their life. My life purpose is to help others bring peace, joy and hope into their life, wherever their life is at this moment.

I have spent my working life doing two things – helping others make life transitions easier and continually learning new ideas and ways to help people through their transition and lead a passionate and purposeful life.  I am so inspired when I see their face light up, the extra sparkle in their eyes, and a smile from ear to ear. That is when I know I have helped them learn to experience passion and joy in their life.

You can count on me to bring insight into your situation, passions and dreams.  I have helped people face and get through some of the most difficult times in their life.

My Tool Kit

My tool kit is packed with skills, knowledge and experience that I learned over the past 25 years working with people in transition and personally experiencing many life transitions.

Career Experiences

Since 1989 I have worked with people in transition.  Key learnings have come from working with women (and their children) in abusive relationships, working as a 9-1-1 Emergency Services Dispatch; volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief Program in New York after 9/11 and in Barriere, BC after the 2003 fires; providing child development and parenting information.  My experiences have included both front line work and supervisory/management responsibilities.  I have even been in jobs that I absolutely hated and knew I had to leave. I have spent my working life doing two things – helping others make life transitions easier and continually learning new ideas and ways to help people through their transition so they can lead a passionate and purposeful life.

Personal Experiences

After living in one city while raising our family, in 2001 my husband and I started a new journey and lived in 3 new cities in 7 years.  I know what it is like to be an “empty nester”, and to start over learning about a new city, making new friends, and starting new jobs.  One of the most important transitions for me was learning to live as a caregiver for my husband, especially when his cancer was terminal.  Becoming a widow at 50 years of age has brought me a wealth of information and learning about living with peace, joy and hope in a time of sadness and despair.

Moving Forward

We all travel a different path and experience different transitions in our life.  I do understand and have experienced feelings of loss, anger, bewilderment, despair and grief.  I have also experienced great joy, hope, excitement, and peace.  Let me help you find your path to living on purpose, with passion, and bringing peace, joy and hope into your life.
